What has been the most painful experience in your life?
When I think about the deaths of my granddad and my dog (the dog sounds lame, but I blame myself). I cry uncontrollably even though my granddad died years ago… when I hear people talking about going to their grandparents at the weekends it tears me up… not that I would ever admit that to my friends.
Where would you like to live?
In the UK… I like where I grew up.
What are your views on things going on in the world around us:
That the world is in a pretty sorry state, but it’s not really going to be changed. When people are poor *as is becoming increasingly common as the price of everything rises*, people push world issues to the back of their mind. Screw taking the bus, my car is cheaper type thing.
The American election.. I hope Obama wins, even though I don’t know much about his policies.
I think the UK is spending stupid amounts of money on the 2012 olympics.
I think there should be a NHS everywhere in the world.
Gay marriage
All for it… it shouldn’t make a difference if people are gay/bi/straight… if they are in love, they should be allowed to get married.
Abortion
it’s the person’s decision… I know personally, I would never be able to go through with it though.
War in Iraq
Against it
Mind telling us who you are/would vote for?
According to politopia.com *American website*, I share similar values to John Kerry… UK wise, I would vote for conservatives.
Do you know anyone in the military?
My brother.
How has that effected your view on the war?
I’m against it… but I don’t want him to have to go and fight and risk his life, so I’m biased.
What inspires you?
Knowing what I want out of life… I want to become a barrister, marry and become a stay at home mum. I’ve always known that this is what I wanted to do, and so I have always known what to strive and aspire to.
How do you feel about marriage?
Something I would like to do… but only when I’m sure I have found the right person for me… I want to be married to have a serious life commitment, not just to say I was married before 25.
What are your religious beliefs?
Agnostic… open to the idea of religion, but at the end of the day, its either right or wrong… safest bet is to sit on the fence :p
What do you like most about yourself?
My eyes… they are hazel *more green than brown*. I have the same eyes as my grandma, who I never met because she died when my mum was 13. It makes me feel closer to her… its something no one has ever really understood.
Views on the death penalty?
Very against it… we don’t have the right to decide if someone gets to continue living or not.
Tell us your favorite book, movie, color, food, month, etc.:
It will have to be books! ‘Noughts and Crosses’, ‘The lullaby’, ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ and ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime’
Movie: Beauty and the Beast. It’s a classic =]
Fav food… Chop Suey from my local Chinese.
Month… December, but then again, im a December baby =]
I’ve never had a fav colour… couldn’t decide
I love the number 19… for no apparent reason.
Who is your celebrity crush?
David Tennant. Wow basically.
Who is your hero?
This guy called Bobby… he is amazing (met him through psc).
Tell us something you find embarrassing about yourself;
How I ramble on and people look at me and just sigh :p
What's the best thing that has ever happened to you?
Meeting my best friend… she has helped me more than she could ever know. She is an amazing person, and I’m so lucky to know her.
Tell us a story, any story at all (make one up, even, if you want to) in a paragraph.
I was at the cinema with my *now ex* SO, and his two best friends... i managed to convince them to come see enchanted with me, but this turned out to be a mistake. The two friends were inisting their seats were wet and so moved to the other side of the cinema, leaving me and my SO alone... seeing as we were both very shy and it was early in the relationship, it was very embaressing... it was made worse by the fact we could hear his two friends laughing and telling us to kiss the whole time! yeahh that was a fun day :p
Some mid-level questions:
What are your views on the power of music?
It’s amazing, and people should enjoy listening to it, however, I’m not too fused… I don’t have a radio/mp3/ipod. I’m happy with my own thoughts as well if music isn’t around, but it’s nice if it is.
What are your views on marriage?
People enter into it too lightly. They don’t think of it as something for life, more, something they can get out of. I think divorce shouldn’t be so easily available, and then maybe people would think twice about getting married in the first place.
How many kids do you want?
5, three boys and two girls
How do you view the war on drugs?
I don’t believe in war in general.
What is the one thing that can cheer you up, no matter the situation?
Getting an email from Bobby… they always make me laugh. That’s about it… a lot of things usually cheer me up, but I know for a fact, if I get an email from Bobby, I wont feel so alone in the world.
Where do see yourself in 5 years?
At university studying to become a barrister.
What do you wish most people would realize about themselves?
That they are beautiful… they just need to believe it.
What was your state of mind during this interview?
Tired, but trying to be open, and think about everything that has happened/shaped me.
Leave us with a quote?
*hard for me to choose just one*
Recognize that everyday won't be sunny. And when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair... remember it's only in the black of night you can see the stars, and those stars will lead you back home.

First let's get the basic info:
Name- Melissa
Age- 18
Gender- Female
Job- Student
State of mind during interview:
What would you say your current state of mind is? Excited, anxious.
Are you currently on any mind altering substances (drugs, alchohol, caffeine, sugar, etc.) (also don't be embarrased to answer this question, this is a non-judging interview) I think I just have sugar - marshmallow mateys cereal for breakfast.
All right, we'll start off with just some world views, feel free to ignore any of these questions:
What do you think is the most valuable part of life? And why?
I think that the most valuabe part of life in knowledge. Because it's based off of knowledge that we do most of our actions. Without knowledge we wouldn't really know what we're doing, y'know?
Are you happy where you are in life right now? Is it what you always wanted?
I know that I could be happier. I'm happy that I've moved out and that I'm going to start college this month, but I also know I could be happier if I had more friends around me, and if I had a job, too. This isn't really where I want to be, but it'll be ok for awhile.
How have the events of your life within the past few years changed you?
Within these past few years, I have come out to my friends about being bi-sexual, I've hurt myself, and I've cut a few people from my life. All of these small things have changed me for the better (except maybe the cutting.) The few friends I got rid of, weren't really my friends, coming out to my friends allowed me to be so much more free around them and it has simply made me a more easy-going person.
What are your goals in life?
My biggest goal in life is to become a teacher. That's what I'm currently going to be going to school for. I want to be an english teacher, to be exact. And I'd also love to become an accomplished author. I think that the greatest thing I could achieve in life is writing for a living.
Describe a typical week in the life for you:
I'll go to bed late (12am -1am) and I'll get up between 9am and noon. Because I don't have a job yet, my days are free, and I spend most of my time looking for a job (I want to work at borders so badly, I'm calling them everyday!), and being on the computer talking to people on PostSecret.
Do you believe in world peace?
I believe that it can only be achieved if everyone in the world wants to have it.
What would you change in your life, and why?
I would change my employment status. I'd have a job at Borders Book Store because I love working with books and people AND because I need to get a job so that I can be making some money.
What is your inspiration?
My main source of inspiration is my emotions. Sometimes, I'll become quite numb, but you wouldn't know, even if you looked at me. You'd have to pay careful attention to how I talk and act to see if I was. I'll be numb for a few days or weeks, depending on the original reason, and I'll eventually find a way to bring myself out of it (cutting or making myself think of the most heart breaking story I can). Out of those emotions, I will find the ability to write as if it was planned out centuries ago, carved in stone that what I was writing was to be.
Or, music will inspire me to just... be myself, to help others or, music will even inspire me to write like my emotions do.
What movie/song/book do you most relate to?
Movie: P.S. I Love You -- even though this is a very sad movie (and I don't like the main actress) I know that if something like that were to ever happen to me, I'd want it to happen like that.
Song: So Far Away - Crossfade. The lyrics just speak what I can't bring myself to say.
Book: Girl, Interrupted -- I have by no means been admitted into a psychiatric facility, nor have I ever been on medication, but something in that book just calls out to me, telling me that it's ok, I'm not the only one.
What is your sob story?
I was six. I know I was six because I remember being excited about starting the 2nd grade next fall. It was summer, time, too, because I remember how hot it was. What I don't remember is why my Mother and I fought that day.
Maybe it was because I was cranky. Maybe I took my brothers' toy. Maybe I was just being a 6-year-old having a bad day. But I remember being put into my room, crying for my Daddy. It was during the afternoon because I remember my brother and I had been inside because of the heat. My mother closed the door, telling me to be a good girl and be quiet.
But I was hysterical. I wanted my Daddy. I wanted someone to hold me, hug me, just love me.
I had cried for the rest of the day when my Daddy finally got home. I renewed my screaming with vigor, my voice breaking. I could hear his footsteps coming to my door, his hand on the doorknob. But then I heard a soft whisper belonging to Her.
My heart ached, my stomach burned, and my lungs screamed as I heard him turn and go with her. I could not and did not understand why my Daddy had walked away, but I cried myself to sleep that night, my throat raw.
Bright and early the next morning, my Mother was all smiles, choosing to forget yesterday. My voice was hoarse as I petulantly asked for Daddy. She merely herded me off to breakfast.
Have you let it hold you back?
I haven't let it hold me back, but it has put a serious strain on my relationship with my mom We fought constantly when I was younger, (10-13). we could never agree on anything. I could never trust her with anything.
Mind telling us who you would/are voting for?
Obama.
Pro-choice or pro-life?
Pro-Choice.
Mind telling us your reasoning?
I think it's the woman's right to choose for herself whether or not she should get an abortion. She shouldn't be forced to keep a child that she wouldn't want or couldn't take care of (even if she could give it up for adoption.)
View on the war?
I don't think we should've gone into Iraq in the first place. I never liked Bush, even when I was 10 and he was running for office the first time.
Do you know anyone in the military?
My grandpa was in WWII. I think I have some cousins and other relatives who're over in Iraq right now, but I'm not sure.
How has that effected your view on the war?
I still think the war shouldn't have been started, but, I support the men and women fighting the war.
How do you view relationships?
I think relationships are amazing things, if you know how to handle the person you have a relationship with. Friendships are easy to keep, because there usually isn't any sex involved. BF/GF relationships are harder to keep because sometimes, you just don't know the other person that well.
Do you believing in open, or closed relationships?
I will say that I believe in closed relationships IF (speaking personally here), I was able to enter into the kind of relationship that I've always wanted to have. Some undertones of D/s, but, between three people. Myself and two men. BUT, (not speaking personally) I believe that any kind of relationship can work (open or closed) as long as the people involved learn how to COMMUNICATE with each other.
How do you view domestic abuse?
It's an unnecessary evil that is tragic whenever it happens.
How do you view the war on drugs?
I view drugs as being bad, but you cannot make someone's decision for them. If they choose to partake in the use of mind altering drugs, then that's their business. As long as they don't drive, don't force others to do it, and they don't endanger anyone else in their drug use.
Tell us your thoughts on how to fix the recession:
I'm not sure, really.
How do you feel about the poverty in American cities?
I think it's horrible that it's as bad as it is. Something should be done about it.

Cold, dark, damp, isolated. That's what it was like in her mind. Her sanctuary. A small shadow lurked in the far corners of her mind, always watching and for the most part, unnoticed. Her eyes darted between the rain droplets splattered against the window, the only thing that broke the smooth surface of the walls of her room. Even the door was smoothed into the wall, never breaking the surface. She drew up on her knees, her hand shaking as she reached out to the window, her fingers touching the freezing glass in awe. Her fingers danced over the glass like the feet of a ballerina, a pattern of lines following in their wake.
Some mid-level questions:
What are your views on the power of music?
I think music has the power to make anyone feel any emotion at any given time. It is truly something amazing.
What are your views on marriage?
I think marriage is a wonderful thing, for the right people who want to be together and who can make it work.
How many kids do you want?

I am FOR gay marriage. I don't see why two consenting adults of the same sex shouldn't be allowed to get married.
What is the one thing that can cheer you up, no matter the situation?
Music. More specifically, the music from the movie Across the Universe. I love all of their voices and how they sing the Beatles' songs.
Where do see yourself in 5 years?
Still in college, being a student teacher and well on my way to having a Teaching Degree and a Masters in English.
What do you wish most people would realize about themselves?

What would you say your current state of mind is? I'm relaxed, I would say.
Are you currently on any mind altering substances (drugs, alchohol, caffeine, sugar, etc.) (also don't be embarrased to answer this question, this is a non-judging interview): No, I'm sober.
All right, we'll start off with just some world views, feel free to ignore any of these questions:
What do you think is the most valuable part of life? And why? I would say loving the people around you, taking care of them. In the end, they're all you got.
Are you happy where you are in life right now? Is it what you always wanted? No, I am not too thrilled with my life right now, but I'm getting to a point where I could be, I don't like the feeling of the 'inbetween'. No, this is not all I want out of life.
How have the events of your life within the past few years change you? There's been a lot of bad, so it's made my skin thick. I'm very proud of the fact that it did not change my optimism, my belief that there is always better days. I've welcomed a lot of babies into the family, and they have made me see the beauty in the small things again, or more often. I've realized miracles happen every day, and God is every where.
What are your goals in life? I want to be a writer, to be happy, to be a mother and a wife someday.
Describe a typical week in the life for you: I don't really do anything different, every day is the same, on Sundays I check postsecrets.com I watch a different movie every night. I watch The Big Bang Theory and How I Met YOur Mother on Mondays, Criminal Minds on Wens. I read a lot, and write a lot. Check my email, internet stuff daily. I pray a lot.
Do you believe in world peace? No. I wish I could, I wish for it, I pray for it, but it's in human nature to fight.
What would you change in your life, and why? The way people around me act, I wish they could be thankful for all they have, instead of angry about what they do not. I wish they would realize when something has run its course.
What is your inspiration? Children, and the world around me.
What movie/song/book do you most relate to? No Rain-Blind Melon
What is your sob story? My father was extremely abusive to the people around him. No one in my life has ever had a lot of faith in me, I get told how much I suck on a regular basis. Have you let it hold you back? I haven't. It might be what happened to me, but it's not who I am.
Mind telling us who you would/are voting for? I honestly don't know, I'm a huge flip-flopper on that area.
Pro-choice or pro-life? Pro-life.
Mind telling us your reasoning? It's still a life. If you hadn't been a dumbass in the first place you wouldn't be in that predicament. The only time abortion is forgivable is a rape victim, or if it's a medical reason.
View on the war? I wish it would end, I don't see why we ever went over there. But I realize we can't just pull out now, all hell would break loose.
Do you know anyone in the military? Yes, I do. My bestfriend.
